Justified by Faith

“For what does the Scripture say? “ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED  TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

Romans 4:3

It all boils down to faith. That’s our part in the whole salvation thing. Salvation is a free gift that we do not have to pay for at all. We could have done no job whose wage would have afforded us eternal salvation. But God decided to allow us to have eternity as a gift. The one pre-requisite that allows us to receive this gift is faith.

But faith is often misunderstood or miss-defined. Faith is not knowing or trusting Jesus for simply salvation. Faith is not a prayer or a decision. Faith is a relinquishing of control. Faith is an act of the will, wherein we lay down our lives and trust in the Lord for our earthly and eternal destinations. Anything less than all would not be faith.

Abraham was justified before God because he trusted in God. Once man trusted God for everything in the garden. Once man’s life was fully in God’s more than capable hands. The one gift that we can offer Him that will be pleasing and honoring to Him is to acknowledge His rightful place in our lives. The one gift we can give Him is faith.
